The POS log shows what was registered.
It contains the orders rung up in the register. It holds no payout data, and orders placed outside the register are not in it.
Independent reconciliation of payment flows
Kwitta compares the merchant's own records with those of the payment chain and shows what reconciles – every figure traceable to the original file, line by line. Independent of the party making the payout.
Pilot: six months of continuous data from one merchant – POS records against the card terminal log. Supporting records are shared on request under confidentiality.
The problem
It contains the orders rung up in the register. It holds no payout data, and orders placed outside the register are not in it.
It contains authorised card payments and the acquirer they were routed to. It holds no record of what was later paid out, or the fees charged.
It contains the acquirer's payouts per batch and the fees charged – deducted or invoiced separately. It holds no register orders and no payments outside the card network – Swish, cash, delivery platforms.
Each file covers one step. None contains the others. Kwitta doesn't connect the systems – it compares the files they already produce.
For acquirers, PSPs and POS providers
Every discrepancy is explained, line by line, in the reconciliation you hold – before the merchant needs to ask. An attestation is issued on request.
Kwitta reads the files you already produce. It never touches funds and never initiates payments.
As a party in the chain, your own reports can't serve as an independent check. Kwitta sits outside the flow, so its attestation can.
Integration
Kwitta reads the standard exports from POS systems, terminals and acquirers. If your format is already in the library, there is nothing to build. If it isn't, we add it once – and it then works for all your merchants.
